Northrop names new VP of mission assurance for Technical Services

Northrop Grumman has promoted Ruth Bishop to the position of vice president of quality, safety and mission assurance for its Technical Services sector.

Northrop Grumman Corp. has named Ruth Bishop vice president of quality, safety and mission assurance for its Technical Services sector, effective Jan. 26, 2013.

Bishop will be responsible for sectorwide mission assurance and Six Sigma functions to enhance quality and measure productivity, while predicting future program performance for the sector, Northrop Grumman said.

Before this appointment, Bishop served as the director of mission assurance for Northrop Grumman’s Electronic Systems sector’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and targeting systems division.

She has been an employee at the company since 1981, after leaving Westinghouse Electric Corp., where she worked as a laboratory technician.

She holds two bachelor’s degrees; one is in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and the other in biological sciences from University of Delaware.
