Raytheon makes 11th cyber deal since 2007
Raytheon Co. has acquired Teligy Inc. in a cyber-related play to buff out its wireless cybersecurity capabilities.
Raytheon Co. has further buffed out its wireless cybersecurity capabilities with its acquisition of Teligy Inc., a technology development company.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the company said that the transaction will not materially impact Raytheon’s total company sales or earnings per share for the fourth quarter 2012 or for fiscal 2013.
"The Teligy acquisition adds critical wireless capabilities that address the needs of our cybersecurity customers in the intelligence, DoD and federal communities," said Lynn Dugle, president of Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems business.
Raytheon noted that this is its 11th cyber-related acquisition since 2007.
Teligy, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Greer, S.C., transitions prototype and proof of concept cyber products into deployable solutions, Raytheon said.
Its co-founders, Vic Gunter and Jason Yates, will remain with the company. Gunter is the current vice president of engineering; Yates, vice president of development.
The acquisition augments Raytheon's capabilities that are of a topmost priority to intelligence, defense and commercial organizations, including wireless communications, vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering and custom kernel software/device driver development, the company said.
