HP gets $2.1B NMCI boost
Navy gives Hewlett-Packard a bigger ceiling to keep the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet up and running.
Hewlett-Packard Co. got some good news last week to the tune of a $2.1 billion boost to the ceiling of its Navy-Marine Corps Intranet contract, according to a report from GovConWire.
HP is operating the network under a continuity of service contract while the Navy works on the Next Generation Enterprise Network contract. Bids on that contract are due Aug. 8.
The Navy needed the boost to the current ceiling on the continuity of service contract because it expects to surpass the $3.39 billion ceiling in September. It now wants a ceiling of $5.51 billion.
HP is leading one team bidding on NGEN, while Computer Sciences Corp. and Harris Corp. are leading a second team.
