SAIC wins $47.4M sole-source Navy contract

SAIC will provide fleet training over the next year while a competitive contract is developed.

Science Applications International Corp. won a one-year, $47.4 million sole-source contract to provide training services to the Navy.

This contract is being sole-sourced to SAIC until the competitive follow-on contract can be issued, according to the Defense Department announcement.

Services include integrated training support and execution and support for associated fleet commands and activities conducting fleet training.

The one-year firm-fixed price contract is valued at $45.8 million, but the total value could reach $47.4 million if all options are exercised. 

Work will be completed by July 2013 and will be performed in the following areas:

  • Virginia Beach, Va.
  • Norfolk, Va.
  • Suffolk, Va.
  • Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
  • Stennis Space Center, Miss.
  • Everett, Wash.
  • Yokosuka, Japan

Current fiscal year funds are scheduled to expire on Sept. 30, 2012.
