Robert Duffy to take reigns of company's human resources and administration functions.

Harris Corp. has hired Robert Duffy to fill the position of senior vice president of human resources and administration.

Duffy will report to Harris president and CEO, Bill Brown, and will be replacing Jeff Shuman, who is leaving Harris to pursue new endeavors, Brown said.

Duffy joins Harris from United Technologies Corp., where he has held both domestic and international leadership positions since he joined UTC in 1998. He was most recently vice president of human resources for their Sikorsky aircraft operation.

At Harris, he will direct the development of the company’s work force, which includes talent acquisition, leadership development and training, and employee relations; additionally, he will oversee real estate, environmental and health and safety regulations, the company said.

Duffy received his bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Muhlenberg College, and his master’s degree in management and technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
