Lockheed aligns with DOD center to thwart cyber crime
Under $454M Alliant task order Lockheed will assist DOD stop cyber crimes and identity thieves.
Lockheed Martin will assist the Defense Department’s Cyber Crime Center thwart cyber criminals under a task order that has a ceiling value of $454 million if all options are exercised.
The General Services Administration’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center task order, under GSA’s Alliant contract, calls for Lockheed Martin to deliver a range of technical, functional and managerial support to the DOD’s Cyber Crime Center, according to the May 4 company announcement.
The center provides assistance in the investigation of criminal, counterintelligence and counterterrorism matters, as well as cybersecurity support to Defense industrial base partners, the announcement said.
Because of its size and importance, the DOD is targeted by cyber criminals ranging from terrorists to spies to identity thieves.
The Lockheed Martin team will provide the center with cyber analysis expertise gained through its role in protecting some of the most sensitive information networks in the world. the company said.
The scope of work will include digital and multimedia forensics examination, analysis, research, development, test and evaluation, information technology and cyber analytical services.
The primary work will be conducted at the Cyber Crime Center headquarters in Linthicum, Md.
