Former NRC CIO drawn to ActioNet's agility, innovation
New hire will help align customers with the technological advances needed to grow business.
ActioNet Inc., a woman-owned IT engineering firm, has announced the addition of Thomas Boyce, former deputy CIO at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to the company's management team.
Boyce joins as the Vice President of Applied Innovation and will work directly with clients -- helping them to develop technology strategies. In particular, Boyce will integrate advances such as cloud and mobile computing, and cybersecurity into "business goals and mission objectives," for clients, the April 9 company announcement said. He will work closely with federal executive officers and their teams to help them work through technological transformations.
Boyce, who retired from the NRC on April 6, began his new role almost immediately on April 9.
"I was attracted to not only the quality of ActioNet's executive team, but the fact that they practice what they preach," said Boyce. "They have obtained ISO quality management certifications, and apply these principles of quality management in all facets of their work. ActioNet has established itself as a strong 'go to' partner in the federal space combining technology innovation with strong process maturity," he added.
Prior to NRC, Boyce served at the National Institutes of Health Electronic Research Administration and also served as CIO for the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland in Information Systems Management and participated in the CIO Development Masters Program at Syracuse University.
He will report to ActioNet President and CEO Ashley W. Chen, who stresses Boyce's results-focused record achieved within fiscal constraints.
