Alion hires former QinetiQ exec to lead simulation group

At QinetiQ North America, Terri Spoonhour was director of operations in Orlando, Fla., focused on delivering simulation and training solutions.

Alion Science and Technology Corp. has hired Terri Spoonhour as group senior vice president and manager of the Distributed Simulation Group, the contractor announced March 22.

She will lead a business unit whose expertise includes modeling and simulation, software development, human-systems integration, systems engineering and management support for the Defense Department, civilian agencies and commercial firms.

Spoonhour has managed organizations with more than 1,000 employees and revenues exceeding $400 million. She joins Alion from QinetiQ North America, where she was director of operations in Orlando, Fla., focused on delivering simulation and training solutions.

Previously, she held operational roles at Science Applications International Corp., where she rose to the position of senior vice president for operations within the Defense Solutions Group.
