DLT to supply CAD software to DOD for $81M

DLT's partner Autodesk is a design and engineering software specialist.

DLT Solutions, a software and services reseller, has won a blanket purchase agreement contract worth an estimated $81 million to supply the Defense Department with design and engineering software from its manufacturing partner, Autodesk.

Awarded under the DOD’s Enterprise Software Initiative, a program designed to lower the cost of owning commercial software, IT hardware and services, the software will be provided at a discount of up to 10 percent off the General Services Administration's price, according to the Jan. 27 company announcement.

The contract has a 3-year base period with two 1-year options.

The Autodesk software programs include Computer Aided Design (known as CAD), Building Information Modeling (known as BIM), and 3D solutions. Generally, these applications “streamline the design-to-manufacture process of components and sub-assemblies needed to fulfill and maintain critical systems equipment,” according to the announcement.
