Deadline extended for CTO Innovator awards

Deadline is extended for the 2011 Government Contractor Chief Technology Officer Innovator Awards.

Washington Technology and the Northern Virginia Technology Council have extended the deadline for the annual Government Contractor CTO Innovator Awards.

After requests from several companies for an extension, the deadline has been pushed back for one week, until Oct. 7.

The finalists and winners of the award will be recognized as NVTC’s Tech Celebration banquet on Nov. 14.

The program recognizes the role chief technology officers play with government contractors. The finalists and winners will be honored for the contributions to their companies and their customers.

Awards are given in large, midsize and small categories. Last year’s winners were:
Venkatapathi Puvvada, Unisys Corp., in the large category; Robert Groat, Smartronix, midsize; and Visagar Shyamsundar, AMCAD, in the small-business category.

This year's winners will be profiled in Washington Technology, giving the honorees a chance to talk about their accomplishments and the technology trends they see at work in the government market.
