SAIC official returns to TASC as group senior VP

John Hynes Jr., who worked at TASC from 1990 to 2001, returns to the company from SAIC as the newly appointed senior vice president of the Defense and Civil Group.

TASC Inc. has appointed John Hynes Jr. senior vice president of the company’s Defense and Civil Group.

In this role, Hynes will lead an organization that supports customers in the Defense and Homeland Security departments, the Federal Aviation Administration and NASA, according to an August 23 TASC announcement.

Hynes, who worked at TASC from 1990 to 2001, returns to the company from SAIC, where he was senior vice president and general manager of the Mission Support Business Unit.

Before SAIC, he was president of ManTech Security and Mission Assurance.

Hynes served eight years in the Navy as a naval aviator as well as an intelligence analyst and department head at the Naval Operational Intelligence Center.

He began his civilian career as a TASC analyst, advancing to leadership positions including program manager and director of a business unit focused on geospatial systems and text processing.

Hynes has a strong background in strategy, program execution and growth, business development, and profit and loss management.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s in management information systems at George Washington University.
