Alion hires retired Air Force general to pilot decision support post

Alion Science and Technology Corp. has hired retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Stephen Miller as vice president and manager of the company’s Management and Decision Support business operation.

Miller will focus on providing continued support to current customers including the Air Force and Homeland Security Department, and expanding the company’s capabilities in evolving markets such as cyber warfare and decision support.

Miller most recently was LeMay Center Commander, where he managed 250 military and civilian personnel to review, develop and manage more than 500 Air Force and joint doctrine publications.

He retired from the Air Force in 2010 after more than 32 years of service, having served, among other positions, as commandant of the Air War College; deputy chief of the Central Security Service at the National Security Agency; chief of the Air Force Senate Liaison and director of operations for the Joint Task Force in Southwest Asia.

A graduate of the Air Force Academy with a bachelor's degree in political science, Miller also holds a master’s degree in public administration from Troy University and is a graduate of the Senior Managers in Government Program at the JFK School of Government.
