Northrop Grumman Corp. will advance the creation of electronic health records for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a result of a new task order valued at approximately $34 million over one year with five and one-half option years.
Northrop Grumman Corp. will advance the creation of electronic health records for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a result of a new task order valued at approximately $34 million over one year with five and one-half option years.
Under the terms of the award, Northrop Grumman will design, develop, implement and maintain the data repository that supports the administration and incentive payment disbursements of Medicare and Medicaid programs to medical professionals, hospitals and other organizations, according to a company statement released today.
The contractor will develop a National Level Repository for accurate electronic health record incentive payment processing to health care professionals, agencies and institutions.
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) National Level Repository task order was awarded under the Enterprise System Development indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, which Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector won in 2007.
The National Level Repository will provide CMS with an agile, flexible and scalable solution that will help meet the evolving requirements of the HITECH Act, which promotes the adoption and meaningful use of health information technology to improve patient care, the Northrop statement said.
Northrop Grumman’s teammates include Companion Data Services, of Columbia, S.C., and InnovTech, of Ashburn, Va.
