Rockwell Collins to set up software for Special Operations

Rockwell Collins Inc. will provide software technical support to the Special Operations Command under a new contract.

Rockwell Collins Inc. will provide software technical support to the Special Operations Command under a $45 million contract.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, Rockwell Collins will furnish software integration and maintenance support services to the Special Operations Command Technology Applications Program Office, DOD officials said June 23.

The company will perform the work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where it is headquartered. The contract will expire in June 2013.

The command fields forces to defend U.S. interests around the globe and also plans and coordinates operations against terrorist networks worldwide.
