Contractors to support Joint Forces experimentation
The Joint Forces Command has awarded two multiple-award contracts with a combined ceiling of more than $1 billion to four prime contractors.
The Joint Forces Command has awarded two multiple-award, five-year contracts with a combined ceiling of more than $1 billion to four prime contractors for assistance with concept demonstration and experimentation.
The first contract, worth a combined total of $260 million, was awarded to Lockheed Martin Corp. and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems to support core mission and business sustainment efforts, Joint Forces Command officials said June 1.
The second contract for project support, worth a combined total of $780 million, was awarded to Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems, General Dynamics AIS, and Science Applications International Corp.
The Navy’s Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk awarded the contracts on behalf of the Joint Forces Command. Work on the contracts is scheduled to begin Aug. 1.
The Joint Forces Command is one of 10 unified commands in the Defense Department. It is responsible for experimentation, training, interoperability and force provision for joint forces operations.
