CACI International Inc. will support the Army with software acquisition and life cycle management under a new three-year task order worth $38 million.

The award, under the Army’s Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract vehicle, will assist the Communications-Electronics Command Life Cycle Management Command, Software Engineering Center at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

The work will focus on support software acquisition and full life cycle management to enhance the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities of current and future Army Battle Command Systems, with specific emphasis on command and control, CACI officials said.

The Software Engineering Center oversees the evaluation, insertion and integration of advanced software technology – that is, emerging technology and new Army initiatives and systems – especially within the C4ISR domain, they said.

The center also has the critical responsibility of overseeing the acquisition of high quality software to ensure that it has been correctly developed and documented and will be supportable during post production, the CACI officials added.

CACI’s C4ISR team will help the center architect, design, develop, code, integrate, test and support the systems, software, databases and components that are being acquired.

CACI International Inc., of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
