Ocean Systems delivers technical support to Marines

Ocean Systems Engineering Corp. has won an $11.7 million task order to provide the Marine Corps with a range of technical support for its Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) systems.

The task order calls for the contractor, based in Oceanside, Calif., to provide the Marine Corps Systems Command’s System Engineering, Interoperability, Architectures and Technology (SIAT) staff with detailed technical and analytical support needed to define, integrate, certify, plan and oversee the development and delivery of the MAGTF systems.

This effort consists of four domain areas: MAGTF Systems Engineering and Integration; Systems Engineering and Technology; Joint Certification; and Architecture Design and Development.

The SIAT staff is responsible for ensuring that material solutions developed or acquired by the Marine Corps Systems Command and Program Executive Office Land Systems are system engineered, integrated, interoperable and certified.

To do that, SIAT conducts detailed systems engineering, establishes technical policies and guidance across the commands, and manages the technical analysis and distributed planning required to deliver world class MAGTF systems capabilities to the warfighter.

The task order work will be performed at the Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., which is the contracting activity. The work is expected to be completed in April 2010.
