CSC names Harrity to lead strategic business management

Computer Sciences Corp. has named Carol Harrity vice president of strategic business management for the company's North American Public Sector.

Computer Sciences Corp. has named Carol Harrity vice president of strategic business management for its North American Public Sector (NPS). She will report to Mike Gaffney, president of business development for the sector.

In her new role, Harrity will be responsible for strategic capture opportunities and proposal development. In addition, she will oversee the creation and implementation of business strategies and solutions for large-scale government bids, CSC officials said.

Harrity most recently served as the NPS capture executive responsible for the strategic direction of cornerstone bids. She also successfully led efforts that yielded close to $1 billion in opportunities.

She has worked closely with many federal clients, including the Agriculture, Defense and Homeland Security departments, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“Carol brings 23 years of operational and business development experience, a proven capture track record, and the ability to motivate and lead teams,” Gaffney said. She will deliver business value to both clients and CSC, he added.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
