SAIC to assist Air Force Weather Agency
Science Applications International Corp. will provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force Weather Agency under a new contract.
Science Applications International Corp. will provide program management support to the Air Force Weather Agency under a contract potentially worth $12 million over five years.
Under the contract, SAIC will furnish advisory and assistance services for life-cycle program management support, company officials said today. The scope of work includes technical documentation of engineering tasks. It also covers the installation, testing and validation of instrumentation, computer hardware and software, and communications equipment.
The contractor will perform the work primarily at Offut Air Force Base, Neb., the officials said.
The contract was awarded by the Air Force’s 55th Contracting Squadron through the U.S. Strategic Command Systems and Mission Support II program.
The Air Force Weather Agency is responsible for providing information related to weather conditions and the space environment to U.S. military forces worldwide.
SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal prime contractors.
