Margaret Graves takes reins as acting DHS CIO

Margaret Graves takes over as acting chief information officer today on Richard Mangogna's last day as CIO.

Margaret Graves has taken over management of the Homeland Security Department’s information technology programs as the department's new acting chief information officer.

Graves, previously DHS’ deputy CIO, takes over from Richard Mangogna, a Bush administration appointee who left the job today. Mangogna had served in that role since last April.

Graves was appointed deputy CIO last September and previously served as deputy program manager for the DHS Border and Transportation Security IT Integration Program.

President Barack Obama has not appointed a CIO for the department.
