Northrop keeps Louisiana agency IT work

Northrop Grumman Corp. will continue providing technical support services to the Louisiana Social Services Department under a new contract.

Northrop Grumman Corp. will continue providing technical support services to the Louisiana Social Services Department under a contract potentially worth $11.37 million.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman Information Systems will provide support for networks, applications, operating systems and databases, company officials said Feb. 18. The company also will assist with security and administrative services.

The contract is a renewal of a previous agreement for similar support in which the company also provided emergency information technology services during hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike, the officials said.

The one-year, $3.79 million contract has two one-year options, each for the same value. If those options are exercised, the contract would be worth $11.37 million.

Northrop Grumman’s subcontractor on the project is Diamond Data Systems, of New Orleans.

Northrop Grumman, of Los Angeles, ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
