Steve Hughes retires as SRA International's chief financial officer.

SRA International Inc.'s chief financial officer has announced his retirement. Steve Hughes will step down June 30, 2009, the end of SRA's fiscal 2009. The company will begin its search for a successor in early 2009.

Hughes joined SRA in 1981 as a systems analyst and rose through the company's ranks. He has served as controller, vice president and senior vice president of finance.

He also was instrumental in SRA's initial public offering in 2002. He has co-led SRA's acquisitions, which includes the purchase of eight companies since the IPO.

"Steve has had a huge impact on SRA and the company it is today," said SRA President and CEO Stan Sloane.

"I am thankful for the great career I've had at SRA and am proud of our highly capable finance and operations team," Hughes said in a statement. "I am privileged to have helped build SRA into the billion-dollar company it is today."

SRA ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
