Science Applications International Corp. will assist the Navy in managing projects and schedules under a five-year contract that could be worth as much as $24 million.

SAIC's blanket purchase agreement with the Naval Air Systems Command calls for the contractor to provide integrated project management services for aircraft, munitions and unmanned aerial vehicle support programs. SAIC will also perform analysis, evaluation and case studies in support of Navair programs.

The services will help Navair measure and control project schedules and budgets, company officials said. SAIC subsidiary Eagan, McCallister Associates Inc. will perform the work at Patuxent River, Md., and other locations.

Navair provides engineering, development, testing, evaluation, in-service support and program management capabilities to deliver airborne weapon systems that are technologically superior and readily available.

SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
