Booz Allen to transform Army logistics

Booz Allen will provide IT support to the Army Materiel Command under a contract worth $120 million.

Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. will provide information technology support to the Army Materiel Command under a three-year Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract worth $120 million.

Under the delivery order, Booz Allen will provide systems engineering and integration services to help transform the Army's enterprise logistics business. Specifically, the contractor will help consolidate and centralize hosting environments that will assist the command in reducing costs and increasing services.

In addition, Booz Allen will design and create information dashboards and common operating pictures for operations centers, giving commanders faster access to more accurate data, which will improve decision-making across the command.

The McLean, Va., contractor has been providing engineering support to the Army under the S3 contract for more than two years, company officials said. Work will take place at Fort Belvoir, Va.; Redstone Arsenal, Ala.; and remote locations in the United States.

Booz Allen ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
