Exalt will aid DOD with business transition planning

Exalt Consulting will assist the Defense Department with transition planning, enterprise architecture and solution development.

Exalt Consulting Group LLC will assist the Defense Department with transition planning, enterprise architecture and solutions development under a five-year contract valued at $17.5 million.

The award from DOD's Business Transformation Agency (BTA) calls for Exalt to furnish independent validation and verification of products and deliverables and assess their conformity with established guidelines.

The agency expects the process will result in greater efficiency because independent validation and verification is essential to ensuring the delivery of quality, effective solutions to the business challenges facing DOD, Exalt officials said.

BTA wants more flexible business operations throughout the department because its $660 billion budget, 2.9 million employees, and a supply chain of 5.2 million items make it the largest business operation in the United States, they added.

Exalt, an Alexandria, Va., management consulting firm, specializes in information technology strategy.

The company is partnering with Capgemini Government Solutions LLC, which specializes in enterprise solutions for transformation initiatives, performance measurement and testing, quality assurance, and independent validation and verification around ERP implementations.
