CACI to upgrade maintenance of Navy ships

CACI has won a $150 million contract from the Navy to provide IT support and software upgrades.

CACI International Inc. will deploy information technology and software upgrades to modernize ship maintenance at Naval Sea Systems Command shipyards under a newly awarded contract.

The five-year, $150 million contract is intended to save infrastructure costs and improve combat readiness and capabilities. It consolidates work that was spread among more than a dozen maintenance contracts, CACI officials said in a news release.

CACI will be in charge of providing services, integrating software to modernize ship maintenance applications, developing new maintenance technologies, and installing applications at new locations.

CACI, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
