Harris captures Army software services deal

Harris IT Services will design, develop and install software that will support the Army Criminal Investigation Command's mission.

Harris Corp. will help the Army Criminal Investigation Command set up a new software support system under a three-year, $7.8 million contract.

According to the terms of the agreement, Harris IT Services will design, develop and install software that will support the command's mission, company officials said.

Harris IT Services will partner on the project with InterImage Inc., an Arlington, Va.-based information technology services provider with expertise in criminal investigations systems.

The Army awarded the contract through its Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services contract program.

Harris IT Services of Herndon, Va., is a unit of Harris Corp, of Melbourne, Fla. The parent company ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
