Accenture to upgrade OPM financial systems

Accenture will upgrade two financial systems for the Office of Personnel Management under a contract worth almost $80 million.

Accenture LLP will provide the Office of Personnel Management with integration services, systems hosting and software to replace two of its primary financial systems under a Computer Systems Design Services contract worth $79.9 million.

Accenture, of Reston, Va., will upgrade OPM's Revolving Fund and Salaries and Expenses Funds system, which handles the agency's administrative funds, and the Trust Fund, a single integrated financial management system.

The new system will standardize and integrate financial and business management processes. The system will also improve program performance, mission support and decision-making processes. In addition, the system will fully comply with all federal financial system standards and requirements, OPM officials said.

Accenture ranks No. 23 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
