Alion to assist NOAA with radio spectrum services
Alion Science and Technology will supply radio frequency spectrum services to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration under a new $7 million contract.
Alion Science and Technology Corp. will provide the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with a range of radio frequency spectrum services under a new $7 million contract.
The award permits any NOAA office to use Alion's expertise in radio frequency propagation, spectrum management, systems testing and specifications, satellite orbital dynamics, antenna sitings and analyses, and related areas.
Agency offices can use the company's services to analyze potential radiation hazards from NOAA transmitters and identify the effects that various buildings and obstructions could have on NOAA transmitters and receivers.
The three-year contract from the Defense Technical Information Center through the Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center follows previous one-year contracts awarded to Alion in 2006 and 2007.
Alion Science and Technology, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 31 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
