SRC to engineer software-defined radio for Navy

Scientific Research Corp. will enhance software-defined radio systems for the Navy under a new contract.

Scientific Research Corp. will enhance software-defined radio systems for the Navy under a new one-year, $28.4 million contract.

Under the terms of the contract, Scientific Research, of Atlanta, will furnish engineering, technical and logistical support for software-defined radios and equipment, the Defense Department said Thursday.

The company will perform the work on existing and future systems and architectures for a number of organizations.

If all options are exercised over a five-year period, the contract could be worth as much as $164.9 million, DOD said.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity responsible for overseeing the work.

SRC is an advanced engineering company that provides services and solutions for information, communications, intelligence, electronic warfare, simulation, training and instrumentation systems.
