Cubic Corp. will provide support to the Marine Corps for various types of combat training and simulation activities under a $72.4 million contract.

Cubic will supply a range of support services covering unit level and staff training, information technology and technical simulation, the Defense Department said.

The work involves live, virtual and constructive training for Marines before they deploy overseas.

Virtual training uses simulators in a virtual environment, and constructive training is built around the use of computer models and game-type situations.

The Marines expect to complete the project by 2013.

Cubic, of San Diego, ranks No. 83 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
