Avineon divides into federal, commercial divisions

The reorganization of the Alexandria, Va., business is designed to improve customer service, spur growth and create efficiencies when planning and managing projects for each division, the company said in a statement today.
Avineon said its Federal Systems division has experienced significant activity recently, winning contracts from the Treasury and Defense departments and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The provider of information technology, geospatial, engineering and program management services has also won contracts from various utility companies and local government agencies.
The company said it foresees continued growth in both divisions and will continue to add new employees as needed to provide services and support.
As part of the reorganization, Avineon has promoted Hee Sun Choung to senior vice president to oversee the federal group, including the civilian, defense and homeland security systems support.
Gary Wilkison has been promoted to senior vice president of commercial systems. He will be responsible for all geospatial, engineering and commercial IT services that Avineon provides its commercial and state and local government customers.
In addition to Alexandria, Avineon has offices in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, and also has subsidiaries in Europe and India.
