GNS wins SEC info security contract

Global Network Systems Inc. has been picked by the Securities and Exchange Commission to help the agency with several security requirements.

Under a $3.5 million contract, GNS of Rockville, Md., will provide SEC with professional services to help it meet requirements from the Office of Management and Budget and the Government Accountability Office, and also under the Federal Information Security Management Act.

GNS will assist with improving information security programs, while also providing OMB oversight reporting and automating FISMA compliance.

The company has been working with SEC for two and a half years. The woman-owned, 8(a) small business will have four people working on the project and will add others as needed, said Peyman Goldoust, GNS executive vice president.
