Booz Allen to enhance part of global grid

Booz Allen Hamilton will provide information assurance support to Fort Knox under a Defense Department contract.

Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. will provide information assurance support to Fort Knox under a Defense Department contract estimated to be worth as much as $19.2 million.

Under the terms of the contract, the Information Assurance Technical Analysis Center (IAAC) will provide research to further the development and integration of confidentiality, integrity and authentication capabilities for Fort Knox's portion of the global information grid, DOD said.

Booz Allen hosts IATAC, which is located in Herndon, Va. The center collects, analyzes, generates and distributes scientific and technical information on emerging technologies critical for information operations and assurance.

The contracting authority for the project is at Offut Air Force Base, Neb.

Booz Allen of McLean, Va., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
