CGI to upgrade Vermont tax system

CGI Group Inc. will modernize tax management systems and software for the state of Vermont under a new contract.

CGI Group Inc. will modernize tax management systems and software for the state of Vermont under a two-year contract worth $6.3 million.

Under the contract, CGI will convert many of the state's remaining mainframe legacy tax accounting applications into a more modern, Web-based architecture built around Oracle's enterprise taxation management software suite.

The company will convert and process into the new system a number of tax applications, including corporate and business income taxes, fuel gross receipts and property transfer taxes and individual use tax.

CGI of Montreal ranks No. 74 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
