WidePoint buys iSYS

WidePoint Corp. will acquire iSYS LLC, an advanced IT solutions provider to the federal government.

WidePoint Corp. will acquire iSYS LLC, an advanced information technology solutions provider to the federal government. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

ISYS of McLean, Va., provides critical IT services to a broad range of government customers, including the Homeland Security and Justice departments, the Transportation Security Administration, the FBI and the Defense Logistics Agency.

The acquisition adds mobile technology management and forensic informatics software and services to WidePoint's business strategy, said Steve Komar, WidePoint's chief executive officer.

For the fiscal year that ended Dec. 31, 2007, iSYS is projecting more than $18 million in revenue and its sixth consecutive year of growth and profitability. Company officials also said they have a contract backlog worth about $75 million.

Under terms of the transaction, WidePoint of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., will also acquire ownership of iSYS' intellectual property portfolio.

WidePoint is a provider of IT and identity assurance services. The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Operational Research Consultants Inc. of Fairfax, Va., is a provider of government-compliant identity management services and systems.
