Secure Elements, a provider of standards-based information technology audit and compliance management solutions, released C5 Auditor Pro for the IT auditor and inspector general communities.A laptop PC running Microsoft Windows XP and enables audit professionals using testing procedures in the field that are compliant with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Security Content Automation Program to perform compliance and vulnerability scans of networked and stand-alone computers.C5 Auditor Pro also aims to reduce turnaround time for analysis and reports required by the Federal Information Security Management Act.The solution is built on open Extensible Markup Language standards for technical control auditing and benchmarking using the NSCAP security checklists.A stand-alone version of MOTISS ? a software application that helps designers of large structures, including ships and buildings, improve defenses against threats ? is now available from Alion Science and Technology Corp.MOTISS, which stands for Measure of Total Integrated System Survivability, helps designers build in resistance to a variety of threats, which can include fire, explosions and other hazards. Engineers can include features that allow ships and structures to limit the impact of an incident and recover more quickly.The software has numerous applications, including ship design, heavy manufacturing and the design of buildings, large facilities and infrastructure.The stand-alone version is a response to customer requests.
