Deloitte recruits former DISA deputy

Maj. Gen. Marilyn Quagliotti, former vice director of DISA, has joined Deloitte Consulting LLP as a senior manager in the Federal Government Services practice.

Maj. Gen. Marilyn Quagliotti, former vice director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, has joined Deloitte Consulting LLP as a senior manager in the Federal Government Services practice.

Quagliotti, who is the first female signal soldier to reach the rank of Army major general, will work with Deloitte Consulting teams seeking to improve their clients' processes through technology, the company said.

Quagliotti's thorough understanding of the defense community and its information technology needs make her a significant asset to the practice, said Gene Procknow, managing director of Federal Government Services at Deloitte and Touche USA LLP.

She oversaw DISA's global operations and managed a worldwide organization of more than 6,900 military and civilian employees charged with planning, engineering and supporting the net-centric needs of the administration, secretary of defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff and other Defense Department components.

During her military career, Quagliotti also has commanded companies in South Korea and at Fort Gordon, Ga.; served as a battalion commander in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort, Hood, Texas; commanded a brigade in Panama; and headed the 5th Signal Command in Germany.

Quagliotti has a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University and a master's degree in national security strategy from the National War College. She joined the Army in 1975 after graduating from LSU.
