ECS to build messaging system for TSA

Electronic Consulting Services has won a task order to design and install a modern messaging system for the TSA Office of Law Enforcement.

Electronic Consulting Services Inc. has won a task order from the Homeland Security Department's Transportation Security Administration to design and install a modern messaging system for the TSA Office of Law Enforcement.

ECS of Fairfax, Va., and its sole subcontractor, EMC Corp., a Hopkinton, Mass., provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions, will supply the hardware, software and technical support to create a fully operational messaging environment.

The 10-month contract, worth $1.5 million, covers planning, analyzing and documenting requirements; designing, installing, testing and integrating the resultant messaging environment; and conducting knowledge transfer activities.

The Messaging Implementation Project will create a secure e-mail and calendar infrastructure integrated into the Office of Law Enforcement's current secure messaging capabilities, ECS said.

TSA awarded the contract using the Homeland Security Department's Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.

This is ECS' third DHS EAGLE award. ECS was awarded in August a five-year, $50 million EAGLE task order to provide senior-level information technology advisory and assistance services to TSA.
