Alion wins three Navy support contracts

Alion Science and Technology Corp. has won three contracts totaling $16.3 million from the Navy Warfare Development Command to support the Joint Semi-Automated Forces Program and other initiatives.

The Lot I contract entails technical support directly tasks related to the JSAF program; the Lot II contract covers non-JSAF tasks, including war game analysis, concepts analysis, and training and experimentation; and the Lot III contract covers information technology work, such as database and Web development support, networking and system administration.

Each one-year contract has four option years. If all options are exercised, the contracts have a potential value totaling $86.6 million.

JSAF is the Navy's core simulation tool used for training and experimentation. The company will perform the work in Newport, R.I.; Norfolk, Va.; San Diego, Calif.; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

NWDC is responsible for developing Navy operational and warfighting concepts and conducting experiments to test emerging and future technologies.
