Raytheon to equip Navy with satellite terminals

Raytheon Co. will deliver satellite terminals to the Navy under the initial installment of a contract worth $27 million.

Raytheon Co. will deliver satellite terminals to the Navy under the initial installment of a contract worth $27 million.

The satellite communications terminals are for a Space and Naval Warfare Systems contract. The contract is potentially worth as much as $38 million.

Raytheon Network Centric Systems will produce nine extremely high frequency terminals to the Navy. The terminals are part of the Navy's Satcom program and precede the Navy Multi-band Terminal awarded to Raytheon last month.

Raytheon will continue to provide Mission Support services as part of an existing Navy Satcom engineering services contract.

Raytheon of Waltham, Mass., ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
