CACI buys defense consulting business

CACI International Inc. has purchased the Wexford Group International, an employee-owned consulting company serving federal government clients domestically and abroad.

CACI International Inc. has purchased the Wexford Group International, an employee-owned consulting company serving federal government clients domestically and abroad. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wexford of Vienna, Va., provides consulting services in acquisition management, technology applications, strategic communications and management. Clients include the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the Defense Information Systems Agency and the Defense Department's Deployment Health Support Directorate.

The acquisition expands CACI presence in the DOD community and increases its management and technical consulting capabilities. Wexford also has offices in North Carolina, Kansas and Georgia.

Wexford adds experts in asymmetric warfare and training systems for special DOD operations, said Paul Cofoni, CACI's president and chief executive officer.

CACI said Wexford is expected to have revenue of about $100 million for fiscal 2007.

CACI of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
