CSC announces more contracts

Computer Sciences Corp., as its fiscal quarter comes to an end, today announced 63 contracts that it signed during the quarter and had not previously spoken of.

Computer Sciences Corp., as its fiscal quarter comes to an end, today announced 63 contracts that it signed during the quarter and had not previously spoken of. The contracts have a total estimated value of $3.1 billion if the agencies use all of the optional extensions, according to the company.

CSC's first quarter of the 2008 fiscal year ends today.

The Defense Department accounted for the majority of the contracts, having signed 36 separate contracts worth $2.9 billion. Civilian agencies accounted for the remaining 27, valued at $187 million.

The services CSC will deliver under the contracts spans a wide range, including health information technology services, virtual and live training, infrastructure serves and command, control and communications projects.

The contract terms vary, but the longest are for 10 years.

CSC ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
