L-3 wins SPAWAR division services deal

L-3 Communications Corp. won a $94.6 million contract from the Joint Warfare Support Division to provide several services, including integration, production and maintenance.

L-3 Communications Corp. won a five-year, $94.6 million contract from the Joint Warfare Support Division to provide several services, including integration, production and maintenance.

L-3's Government Services Inc. of Chantilly, Va., will perform the work. L-3 GSI's primary business areas include program management, training and simulation, information technology services, systems engineering, integrated security solutions and intelligence community services.

JWSD is part of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston. Its primary mission is to support the joint services warfighters and their infrastructure. Among other things, the division is engaged in work on tactical satellite, telecommunications, information technology networking equipment and psychological operations equipment.

L-3 Communications has more than 63,000 employees and annual sales of $12.5 billion. The company ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
