CSC wins 110 contracts since Oct. 1

Computer Sciences Corp.'s government unit has been awarded more than $600 million in new business contracts.

Individually, the contract wins might not have amounted to much, but taken together they add up to more than $600 million in new business for Computer Sciences Corp.'s government unit.

CSC reported that since Oct. 1 it had won 110 contracts and subcontracts that will net the company $643 million; that is, if all contract options are exercised. The work ranges in length from one month to 10 years.

Forty awards came from civilian agencies and had a total value of $115 million. Defense contracts accounted for 70 awards, worth about $528 million.

Agencies awarding work to CSC include the Navy and Army, NASA, intelligence agencies and state and local agencies.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., has about 78,000 employees and had annual sales of $14.6 billion in fiscal 2006. The company ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
