Comtech called on for satellite data transceivers

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. received $2.7 million in new orders from the Army for its mobile satellite data communications transceivers.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. received $2.7 million in new orders from the Army for its mobile satellite data communications transceivers.

Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. of Germantown, Md., will handle the orders for Comtech's Model 2011E mobile satellite data transceivers.

The transceivers are for the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below ? Blue Force Tracking program, a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system that enables communications when troops are beyond line-of-sight range on the battlefield.

Although the awards relate to the Blue Force Tracking program, the orders were placed against the company's Army Movement Tracking System Contract. Total orders received to date against the $418.2 million contract increased to $361.4 million.

Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., a unit of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., provides satellite-based packet data communication systems and location and messaging services through the use of communication and network technology.
