SYS Technologies will continue maintaining an IRS online training and certification program through a five-year, $5 million subcontract from Unisys Corp.

The companies will work together on the Total Information Processing Support Services, or TIPSS-3, contract. TIPSS-3 is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract established for the Treasury Department, its bureaus and other federal agencies to procure information processing support services.

SYS and Unisys of Blue Bell, Pa., previously partnered on TIPSS-2 awarded in 2000. Under that contract, SYS supplied e-learning and training solutions to the IRS. One of its tasks was to create an online training and certification program known as "Link and Learn Taxes," which served as a mechanism to train and certify volunteers who assist low-to-moderate income people with their tax filings.

SYS of San Diego is a provider of information connectivity solutions to the public and private sectors. The company has offices in California, Maryland and Virginia.
