The Nevada Administration Department wants a contractor to help the state re-engineer its mailroom. A request for proposals is expected in January.The project will address services, technologies and mail-handling processes. The agency wants interested vendors to recommend strategies for long-term acquisition of hardware and software as well as outsourcing key processes.The California General Services Department wants a contractor to implement a state electronic payment acceptance system. An RFP is expected by the end of December.The new system should offer maximum flexibility in choosing payment options, daily batch processing and reconciliation, quick payment settlement and effective fraud protection and security controls.The Wisconsin Administration Department wants a contractor to deliver an interactive voice response system. An RFP is expected in January.The winning contractor will furnish hardware and services to replace manufacturer-discontinued systems.The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration wants a contractor to provide electronic benefits transfer services. An RFP is expected in late October or early November.The services covered include food stamps, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, child care payments and block grants for the child care development fund.The New Jersey State Treasurer's Office wants a contractor to install a voice-activated video courtroom system. An RFP is expected between January and March.Although specific details of the solicitation were not available at press time, such systems generally perform functions ranging from recording evidence and remote witness testimony to providing media pool feeds and broadcast capabilities.
