The Marine Corps lease arrangement, worth more than $500,000, includes accessories such as VirTra Systems' training conversion systems for light and heavy weaponry, and customized, close-quarter battle scenarios specific to the Marine Corps.
Perry Dalby, VirTra Systems' chief executive officer, said the Marines chose VirTra Systems IVR 4G-300 simulator for this work. It will be used at an undisclosed facility, he said, to offer basic small-arms training and "fourth-generation urban warfare experience."
Fourth-generation warfare refers to a military contest between conventional and unconventional forces, specifically, combat between an army fielded by a recognized government and one outside of the control of the nations in the region where fighting is taking place.
