RSIS lands $111 million DARPA tech services deal

RS Information Systems Inc. has won a five-year, $111 million seat management and services contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Terms of the contract call for RSIS of McLean, Va., to furnish IT services and infrastructure systems for the agency. The contract expands on work RSIS has done for the agency over the last five years.

RSIS will deliver technology assistance and network infrastructure support with various types of workstations, servers and applications. The contract covers a wide range of IT services, systems infrastructure and secure computer network defense support.

Because the agreement is performance-based, DARPA establishes standards and optimal levels of service that the company must meet to receive payments. The contract includes service-level objectives that can be changed to meet shifting IT capabilities and technologies, said RSIS President and CEO Rodney P. Hunt in a statement.

RSIS currently supplies a team of 85 IT professionals and technology to the agency.

RSIS, a privately-held, minority-owned firm, has about 1,800 employees and had $360 million in revenue in fiscal 2005. The company ranks No. 35 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors.
